Research title

Innovations to Online Food Delivery Platforms to Improve Australian Consumers Nutritional Intake

Research abstract

Online Food delivery (OFD) is increasingly becoming a convenient way for consumers to reduce meal preparation and shopping time for meals. There is research reviewing the nutritional adequacy of these options (Mahawar et al 2022, & Wang et all 2012). This commentary and research indicates there is a reduction in overall diet quality impacting nutritional intake of consumers who order OFD, and also an overconsumption of energy and discretionary food and drink choices as compared to at home meal preparation. However there is no research to date that has been undertaken to investigate the ways in which the OFD platforms can be better utilised to assist consumers to make healthier choices.
