Julia Scott is a Doctor of Education (EdD) candidate in the School of Education at UNSW, specialising in Gifted Education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary), and a Master of Education (Gifted Education). As Head Teacher English at an inner-regional comprehensive public high school, she is a strong advocate for equity and excellence in public education. In 2025, Julia was awarded a NSW Premier’s Teacher Scholarship in Inclusive Education to investigate models of gifted education across the United States.

Julia’s doctoral research examines the intersection of giftedness, equity, and creativity; exploring how gifted students in low socio-economic school contexts experience and express creativity across different forms of pedagogical practice.
