On 10 December the Centre for Criminology, Law and Justice hosted a screening of ‘Genocide in the Wildflower State, a documentary that sheds light on a dark period in Western Australia’s history.
Produced by Yokai Healing Our Spirit – the West Australian Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation (WASGAC), and narrated by Kelton Pell, this film serves as a powerful call for understanding and reconciliation.
Joining audience members for an exclusive Q&A post-screening was Dr Jim Morrison, Minang-Goreng Noongar Elder and Chair of West Australian Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation and Yokai – Healing our Spirit.
The film was also a finalist for the Media and Creative Industries Award in the 2025 Australian Human Rights Awards, which were held in at UTS Sydney on December 12.
