Delivered in partnership with the UNSW International Centre for Future Health Systems (ICFHS) and NSW Health’s Future Workforce Unit, the Summit highlighted the strength of ongoing collaboration focused on bridging academic research, clinician education, and the practical realities of frontline care. Drawing on world-class research and international health system reform, including insights from Oxford University and global partners, the partnership continues to explore the evolution of the work, the workplace and the workforce. In his keynote, ICFHS Foundation Director, Professor Michael Kidd AO, outlined the megatrends reshaping healthcare, from empowered consumers to augmented and personalised care, to an emphasised the need for interdisciplinary capability across research, policy and practice.

A panel moderated by UNSW Dean Professor Cheryl Jones brought together Professor Jackie Curtis (UNSW Mindgardens), Professor Patricia Davidson (ICFHS), Richard Griffiths (NSW Health) and Megan Maletic (independent Consultant) to examine emerging roles, workforce redesign, and the structural reforms required across education, regulation and funding to enable team-based, system-level care.
