UNSW Cities Institute is proud to host the 11th Global Conference of the Alliance for Healthy Cities with Healthy Cities Australia, a WHO co-sponsored event that will bring together 30+ Asia-Pacific mayors and 500+ policymakers, practitioners, and academics to Sydney.
This influential gathering represents a unique opportunity to advance urban health policy across the region's city governments. As part of the WHO healthy cities movement – a global social movement championing people, places, planet, participation, peace, and prosperity – the conference will directly influence urban health policy agendas across Asia-Pacific cities.
The Alliance for Healthy Cities is the official network of healthy cities in the WHO Western Pacific Region, connecting 200+ local government members and 50+ associate organizations. The previous conference in Seoul (September 2024) attracted over 1,200 participants representing 200 cities from 50 countries.
UNSW's strategic position as an Associate Member with Academic Committee representation enables us to host this significant event, advancing our UNSW Strategy: Progress for All and Societal Impact Framework and redefining the role of academia-government partnerships.
We welcome participation from researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students interested in urban health and healthy cities. We're also interested in connecting with government and industry partners who share our commitment to advancing urban health across the region.
