Meet the Business School's interim co-deans, Professor Paul Andon and Scientia Professor Richard Holden
Professor Paul Andon
A highly accomplished academic with almost 25 years of experience, Paul has successfully led a range of initiatives in program innovation, curriculum development, and whole-of-discipline educational strategy. Known for his engaging and collaborative leadership style, Paul is passionate about building cohesive, high-performing teams.
As a dedicated educator and scholar, Paul is recognised for his innovative approach to teaching, empowering students to apply their accounting knowledge to understanding and running successful businesses.
Paul's research on accounting as a social and organisational practice has made significant contributions to the field, particularly in the areas of assurance practices, organisational misconduct, and professional governance. I am dedicated to using my strengths and experience to drive positive change in business education for excellence at scale, and empowering future generations to realise highly successful careers. Paul's research has been published extensively in leading international academic journals, and has featured in a number of industry keynote presentations.
Scientia Professor Richard Holden
Richard Holden is Scientia Professor of Economics at UNSW Business School, Director of the Manos Institute for Cognitive Economics, and President Emeritus of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
Prior to that he was on the faculty at the University of Chicago and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He received an AM and a PhD in economics from Harvard University. His research focuses on contract theory, organizational economics, law and economics, and political economy. He has written on topics including: network capital, political districting, the boundary of the firm, incentives in organizations, mechanism design, voting rules, and blockchain.
Professor Holden has published in top general interest journals such as the Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economic Studies, and Nature. He is currently editor of the Journal of Law and Economics.
