Over 40 years, KLC has helped more than 40,000 clients.  Our service delivery model is flexible and responsive to our most vulnerable client's needs. In 2025 we surveyed our clients to measure the impact our help had on their lives. They told us:

• I cannot thank you enough.  You were so understanding and you explained everything so clearly.  You were so incredibley kind to me
• I want to thank you for your assistance with this matter.  I very much appreciate how kind and compassionate you were in hearing my story.  Before speaking to you I was unsure and afraid to pursue this matter further, however, after receiving your advice, I felt empowered to do what was right.  How can I ever thank you for making me feel justified and brave.
• Honestly having your support was a protective factor that kept me alive during some of the hardest months I have faced with my mental health.  I am truly grateful and thanksful for all your support.

Our Alumni

Every year, over 500 UNSW Sydney Law and Justice Faculty students attend KLC across a range of courses.  This amounts to well over 5,000 students over the past 40 years. They told us:

• I just wanted to say that everyone is so nice and patient, and I really felt like there was no such thing as a stupid question. This is such a nice centre that I think every student should experience at least once throughout their degree.
• As a student with disability I found the course to be very accessible and inclusive which is very refreshing to experience
• My KLC experience will always be remembered as a special and nurturing time. 
• Thank you for enabling students such as myself to give back to the community while gaining an idea of what it's like to work at a community legal centre and more specifically a Kingsford Legal Centre. I found this course to be extremely insightful and am truly appreciative of the opportunity.  

Our Volunteers

The true Unsung Heroes of KLC are our wonderful volunteers.  Through rain, sleet, hail and pandemic they turn up to ensure that that there is access to justice for all.  In 2024/25 we had a cohort of over 100 volunteers providing quality legal advice over 8 advice nights per fortnight - that's around 40 advices per week. Our Volunteers told us:

• I'd like to acknowledge my huge admiration and gratitude to the supervising solicitors.  They are knowledgeable, patient and tireless - a complete inspiration to me - especially when we're dealing with difficult clients.  They are also fun and lovely to work with.  A special shout-out to Di Anagnos who is just an absolute legend.  Sometimes I'm tired from work and don't feel like coming but I hate to disappoint Di and she always makes the experience worthwhile!
• Different to my day to day work; every client presents a challenge to get on top of an unfamiliar area of law and to engage in problem solving; gain genuine insight into people's lives, a very authentic experience; permanent staff at KLC are very nice and help.
• (Best thing about volunteering) - Improving access to justice whilst giving students a unique insight into non-corporate law.
