Current
This project quantifies apartment supply across NSW and identifies the number and distribution of unsold apartments within each strata scheme. The analysis will clarify where and why unsold stock accumulates and what this means for housing delivery, developer behaviour, financing, and planning outcomes. The project will support evidence-based approaches to addressing supply constraints and improving transparency in the apartment market.
The expected outcome of this project is a detailed dataset and report showing the scale and patterns of unsold apartments and the implications for policy and market functioning. The final report for the Government Architect of NSW is due in March 2026.
