The Japanese Language Proficiency Test is conducted both in Japan and abroad to assess and certify the proficiency levels of learners of the Japanese language.
2026 JULY JLPT in Sydney
N4 and N5 ONLY
Date: Sunday, 5 July 2026
Venue: Patricia O'Shane Building, UNSW Sydney, Kensington Campus
Applications Period: March 5(Thu) 9am AEST- March 25(Wed) 5pm AEDT or until capacity is reached, whichever occurs first.
Mobile phones, smartwatches, and similar devices are strictly prohibited from use after check-in until all test sections have been completed. This restriction also applies during breaks. You may bring them, but they must be switched off and will be held by staff for the entire test day duration.

After the "Check-In Time”, late entry is NOT ALLOWED.
Examinees will not be permitted to enter the test room and take the test.
(Late comers will not be allowed to take the first section of the test but may be permitted to take the test from the second or third section).

Applications are administered centrally by the Japan Foundation, Sydney. Please visit the JLPT Australia webpage to register and make payments for the test.
Cost
Level N4 and N5⇒ $95.00 Test fee + $6.27 Eventbrite booking fee.

Please visit the JLPT website for sample questions. These samples cover all question types across all levels and will assist you in preparing for the test.

- Your results will be mailed to mailing address (AUSTRALIA DOMESTIC ONLY) recorded on your application form by early Oct 2026.
- If you move, please notify us by filling out this form. Otherwise, your results will be sent to your previous address.
