If you are a double degree student from two different faculties, you will need to select your Managing Faculty in the 'faculty type' dropdown of the calculator. This information is available on the UNSW Handbook if you are unsure which faculty is managing your degree or program.
Example:
As a 3598 - Commerce/Media student, your Managing Faculty is the UNSW Business School. This is listed on the Program Handbook page. -
Your student contributions are calculated by the Units of Credits (UOC). The cost of each course is determined by how many UOC are in that course and which school or faculty is delivering that course. You can find the fees of specific courses on the UNSW Handbook.
-
Courses have different fees for various reasons, including:
- The course might have more, or less, Units of Credits (UOC) compared to others
- The course is run by a school or faculty that requires more costly resources (i.e. teaching staff, equipment, demand)
- All courses sit within various student contribution bands, which are determined by the Department of Education (CSP students only)
A course consists of varying Units of Credits (UOC) depending on the intensity and duration for the course. As a student, you will be charged based on the amount of UOC that you take each academic period instead of the number of courses. Use the UNSW Handbook to find out how many UOC is in each course.
The fee for each UOC differs depending on which faculty it is in. Browse through our lists below to see the cost or fee for each Unit of Credit.
