As a joint initiative of the UNSW Faculty of Law & Justice and Law Society, the program supports new law students through regular weekly group meetings, social events and skills workshops.
The program aims to provide a support network for new law students, extending beyond their time at law school. It also seeks to educate students about mental health issues, promote collegiality within the Law Society and encourage involvement within the Law Faculty, Law Society and university life.
Students are randomly allocated into groups to foster diverse friendships in a welcoming environment, with mentors guiding them through the transition to law school.

Why join peer mentoring?
Joining a peer mentoring program offers a unique opportunity to expand your network and develop key skills that foster both personal and professional growth. As a mentee, you'll receive guidance from a senior student (mentor) to help you navigate university life with confidence. As a mentor, your support will empower new students to thrive academically and socially, while you build valuable skills. These include leadership, communication, and problem-solving that will enhance your employability and set you apart in the future.
